Click Here to go to the website for artist terry teatersWelcome to the new and improved version of my website. You are cordially invited to tour my own zany little corner of the art world.
Inside you will find some of the paintings I have completed in the last year or two. Most of them represent a period of time of my life when I was a Disc Jockey and was dancing three times per week. I dance and I paint now but I have done many other things in the past. I have painted for 25 years, however, throughout many changes and approaches to life. Other than paintings I have most enjoyed teaching dance, and conducting creative psychodrama groups.
Music is likewise a passion. When I am painting I am always listening to international and poly-rhythmic music, which I find to be the most conducive to creativity. The feelings I have when hearing music, and especially dancing to it,
are the subject of this group of works. The colors are bright and the movement is flowing, both of which are elements in the overall mood of my life.
Everything in here is for sale, I am making room for my newest body of work which will come out later on this year. I have a new agent and we should be online by June. I will post a notice of the fact on my blog whenever it happens.

In addition to original oil on canvas paintings, I also now offer giclee prints on canvas and signed limited edition prints on high quality paper. Custom enhanced giclee paintings and commissions are available on request; call for details. Purchasing options are below each of the images. All of these fine art paintings are signed by me and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity.

Biography
Terry Teaters M.A. is a fine arts painter working with oils on canvas. Over the past 25 years he has gradually merged his many varied interests into a distinct style which reflects a colorful, unique, and very genuine view of the world.Terry began his artwork in High School but had to shelve it long enough to be in the Navy, work and raise children, and attend 5 years of graduate school. While earning a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Terry took painting classes and studied art in his spare time. While in graduate school he took art therapy and fine arts classes with the intention of having a dual career. While still at University he began selling his paintings professionally to interior designers for corporate office buildings. During post graduate work in Psychodrama at the Innerstages Institute in Houston, Terry still continued his study and practice of painting at the Glassell School of Art.
When in private practice Terry always kept an easel set up in the room next to his office so he could paint between appointments. He taught in two universities and facilitated ecstatic dance groups in three different cities. He eventually stopped seeing therapy clients altogether and became a full time painter, selling his work in various galleries and other venues.
Terry's work has shown at many different places. Among them were St. Edwards University, Glassell School of Art, McKnight School of Art, the University of Houston, Ironwood Gallery, Jewish Cultural Center, the Mankind Project in Houston, and the Austin Lyric Opera. He has been shown at respected galleries and two of his paintings were used in a Hollywood motion picture.
