Biography
Leonard, was born in Orange,New Jersey where he attended and graduated from East Orange High School in 1962. Upon graduation Leonard,worked for an advertising agency in Montclair, New Jersey, until his induction into the arm forces.Upon his separation from the service he returned to his home town where he joined the Orange Police Department. After seven years of service to the city, Leonard, decided to return to art school. After one year of part time sudy he was asked by one of his instructors to consider attending the school on a fulltime basis. Leonard was accepted to Parson School of Design where he was an Illustration Major. From there he studied at the Arts Students League as well as the Newark School of Industrial Art.Leonard currently lives in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey where he is currently doing his art and custom framing.
Leonard, works in pen and ink, pastels,acrylics and watercolor. His work has been on display throughout North and South Jersey, Chicago and at the Philadelphia Black Art Expo. a member of the Atlantic City Art Center, the Ocean City Art League and the Hammonton Township Art Center.
Leonard has painted several murals in Brigantine and completed the restoration of the Kentucky Ave Jazz Mural in Atlantic City.
